SHARE YOUR DOCUMENTS ONLINE WITH DOCSTOC

Teachers can share their class notes or essential educational material with other teachers or their students in various ways. I found some teachers still using the email method. Cut, copy and paste can be done away with, if you utilize docstoc or scribd to store your documents online and access it from anywhere. And these include presentations. You have the choice to make your files private or public and you can give the option to download or to embed or to share with others via email and Facebook. You can upload a variety of files and let them be stored online. With docstoc, you can even track how many times your documents have been downloaded or viewed as well.

GOOGLE DOCS FOR USE IN EDUCATION

Google Docs is an answer to every teacher and student working on a collaborative project or individually. All you need is a gmail account and anyone can create or upload files, edit and publish or share with whomever they want. Students and teachers are already familiar with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Google has all these and more for you to work with @ Google Documents, and best part is that it can be shared with people you choose, to edit online in real time and it is FREE. You do not need to save any of these files on your computer as they are stored online,on Google's secure servers, which means you can do away with your pen drive and access your files from anywhere with an internet connection.
In addition to the word processor, spreadsheets and presentations, one can also create forms and drawings. Imagine working on a collaborative drawing.
Once finished, you can even embed your file onto your class blog for others to find it.
Advantages of using Google docs are many, compared to Openoffice.org and Microsoft Office. But now, Microsoft has come out with an answer to this by introducing the Microsoft Cloud. But Google Docs remain the popular choice in the classroom.

HOW TO SEND HINDI OR KANNADA ASSIGNMENTS TO YOUR TEACHER ONLINE

Homework and essays written in the book used to be submitted for correction by the teacher. It is common knowledge that most assignments today are submitted online.Sometimes the student has to work in his/her group to complete a project. And of course,a deadline has to be met. When the language being used is English, there is no problem. But,when the chosen language happens to be an Indian language such as Kannada/Hindi/Telugu/Malayalam/Tamil,what does the student do?
Many of my students are in a dilemma when such a situation occurs. If you try to"copy and paste" the vernacular language onto a Word document or onto an email client,it does not copy. Many are frustrated by this attempt, because only the pictures selected get copied.
The best solution is to use the Google Indic Transliteration tool to write what you want in the language of your choice, and then, select all, copy and paste into new document on Google Docs, save it and share it with friends. You may invite your friends as collaborators so as to enable them to also edit the document online while on Chat in realtime and submit it to your teacher for approval. You can make your online project/assignment fetch you more marks by simply adding some relevant pictures or even an educational video from youtube or teachertube.Google Docs has these advantages and scores over a Microsoft Word document.
