Educational videos are an excellent source of engaging and sometimes interactive learning material. Some of the free virtual libraries available online include free video tutorials , teachertube , learning made fun , one stop homeworkhelp and visual learning .
Salman Khan of Khan Academy has created exceptional videos for k-12 education. Not restricted to any one syllabus, the virtual library is available to students from across the globe, 24x7, FREE. With just a computer and a pen-tablet-mouse, he has created over a 1000 videos which are being used by students who can understand subject topics from Math and Science. Interestingly presented in conversational style, this non profit organization is set to be every academically challenged student's best friend. These videos can be accessed @ the khanacademy channel on youtube or khanacademy.org. Salman Khan and his website have been conferred with the 2009 Tech Award In Education. Below is a sample of his video on Binomial Theorem.

HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE PERIODIC TABLE

Chemistry Students often find the understanding of the periodic table easier once they are taught the fundamentals right. Several websites teach the periodic table in various ways. Ptable is another such website, displaying the periodic table, which highlights the elements in different colours, effectively engaging the student. The detailed graphical representation makes it interesting, and clicking on an element will bring up photos, videos and even related content from Wikipedia. A Pdf or Png of the Periodic table can also be downloaded for study.
Students have benefited from the easier methods to learn about the periodic table. I find my previous posts on the periodic table being read more often. Here are some of them: The Periodic Table

CHEMISTRY DIAGRAMS ONLINE
Chemistry is a subject where diagrams are essentially accompanied by a lecture from the teacher. Students often need a second explanation and when teaching online or in the classroom it is necessary to have good, clear diagrams that are neatly labelled at hand. One website particularly useful with more than 400 diagrams and animations to be used for chemistry is the one above I found on Twitter.

PERIODIC TABLE REALLY EASY
Chemistry is interesting to students when they have a great teacher to explain. The periodic table in particular, always needs explicit explanation for a student to retain it in memory. Many students have written to me asking for easier ways of learning the periodic table, especially if they have missed the class. My earlier posts,The Periodic Table-More Ways To Learn and The Periodic Table are popular among the students and teachers.Videos made differently to suit each one,so take your pick and learn so as to be able to teach another. This strategy worked very well with my students. They learnt, but they become more perfect when they are given he chance to teach the rest of the class or another student that needs explanation. Here is a new video I found on teachertube.
